My favorite body scrubs

Using an orange zester to zest an orange.

I call myself a product junkie, my shelves are full with all sorts of stuff.  I especially love body scrubs and these are so easy to make at home and are mostly made with all natural ingredients.  When using these or any other oil based body scrub, be sure to stand on a non-slip surface.  It can get pretty wild otherwise!

Citrus Salt Scrub

1/2 cup sea salt

1/2 cup almond oil – you can substitute with olive oil

1 lemon

1/2 teaspoon orange zest

1/2 teaspoon lemon zest

First mix the oil and sea salt together, coating the salt well so it doesn’t dissolve in the lemon juice.  Add the zest.  Cut the lemon in half and squeeze both halves over the salt and oil mix.  Mix well and store in an airtight jar.

You could also make this with any citrus fruit you like.

Orange Salt Scrub

2/3 cup sea salt

1/3 cup olive oil

1/3 cup liquid bath soap

zest of 1 orange

1 teaspoon essential orange oil

Mix the salt with the oil and soap then with the essential oil.  Transfer to an airtight jar.

Baby Soft Salt Scrub

1 cup fine salt

1/2 cup oats

1/4 cup powdered milk

1/4 cup baking soda

1/2 cup baby oil

5 to 6 capsules of vitamin E

Mix the dry ingredients, add the baby oil.  The mixture should look like wet sand.  If you want the scrub to be oiler, add more oil.  Snip the top of the vitamin capsules and add the liquid to the scrub.  Store in an airtight jar.

Please let me know which is your favorite home-made scrub and with your permission, I’ll add it to the list.  Also be sure to subscribe to my blog as I’m gearing up to add more Luscious Goodies!!

Be happy…
