Sometimes it’s easy to let yourself slide into negativity. You feel that the world is against you and it takes too much energy to look for the positive. It’s possible that you’ve forgotten how to appreciate what you have.
Without realizing it, you’ve started taking everything for granted. A sense of entitlement starts to creep in. Little things start to appear enormous and unsolvable.
It’s time to make a change.
When you find yourself on this path, try to remember “but“. Go ahead with your negative thoughts but end them with a positive. Keep doing this until it becomes a habit. You will be surprised at how easy it is. And you’ll quickly realize one day that the negative has disappeared and the positive has been there the entire time.
I’ve listed a few personal examples below because yes… I have moments of negativity and doubt. But fortunately I’m able to catch the negativity and change it around in seconds. That’s because I know my life isn’t perfect but I’m loved, happy and blessed.
I’ve seen better days, but I’ve also seen worse.
I woke up with some aches and pains, but I woke up.
My kids and grandkids are 100 miles from me but a FaceTime call away.
I don’t have all I want but I have all I need.
I haven’t had any luck finding a job but the right one will come along.
I hate my car and I want a new one but it’s dependable and almost paid off.
I’m not crazy about my appearance but I’m healthy and can change it.
I don’t like living in an apartment but it’s a safe and secure roof over my head.
Come on and give it a try, because seriously, what do you have to lose?
With love,
Steffanie
