And no… I wasn’t able to slip off to a tropical island which is one of my dreams vacations. I spent four days and three nights right here at home. What made it so special was the people I spent it with.
School is out and it’s time for Camp Nanny. Micah and Emmy were my first campers. I had made all kinds of plans, we had places to go and things to see. Would you believe the only outing ended up being to the grocery store! We were having so much fun at home that we didn’t get out.
Time at Camp Nanny means Lego and Minecraft, swimming and movies. And staying in your jammies all day if you want. It was baking cookies and talking for hours. It was staying up later than usual and drinking coffee milk on the balcony. It was simple meals and tickle fights. It was belly laughs and not a single meltdown. It was secrets of a five year old girl and the dreams of an eight year old boy. It was on the floor racing Hot Wheels and being scared of a rubber snake. It was snuggling on the sofa and drinking chocolate milk. It was teaching and learning, pure joy and endless love. It was focusing on every single second and hearing every single word. It was a connection that I cherish and will never forget.
Thank you Micah and Emmy, for giving your Nanny some super wonderful memories! I’m so proud of you and love you both so much. And I can’t wait for more summertime fun with you!
XOXOXO
